Adios, Tumblr!
See you soon!

Is it wrong
that I want to lose weight in Cuba?
I haven’t wanted to admit it because I’m terrified that I’ll gain weight instead. But then I realized that I can use this as motivation. When I want a big slice of tres leche cake or to go out and get drunk, I’ll think about y’all and practice some will power. I’ll think about how cool it would be to come home after three...
I don't want to say goodbye!
Since I’m flying out of Canada on Sunday, we’re spending tomorrow night in Toronto. That means we have to leave the dog with her vet today.
I have to drive her over but I don’t wanna! She’s the best dog ever and I’m going to miss her!
I’m kind of afraid that this is the last time I’ll her her and my cat. Ruby (dog) is 14 and Nikki (cat) is 17....
To do list
Finish packing/laundry
Clean my room
Buy maple syrup
Buy a few books
Get my eyebrows waxed

Relapsed again.
Not tomorrow though. No, I’m not going to ruin my last day in America. I have two days left with my family and I don’t want my disorder to ruin them.
I’m getting better and I’m getting closer to being happy. I know that I’ll get better eventually. I just need to pick myself up and keep trying.

Anti-abortion extremists introduce new intimitadion tactic
From The Rachel Maddow Show - Jan 18, 2011
The government shuts down Megaupload but not a site like this? WHAT THE FUCK. This is disgusting.
No matter where you stand on the abortion issue/women’s rights (it’s one in the same to me), you have to admit that this is completely wrong.

89 Simple Swaps That Could Change Your Life →
hungryrunner:
Try a few of these if you really want to kick your healthy and fit lifestyle into serious high-gear!
My top 10 favorites:
1. Planks for crunches. Okay okay, have we said this enough? Crunches may not be the secret to six-pack abs. Give planks a try instead to work that whole core. Extra points for holding it for a minute straight!
2. Interval workout for relaxed run. Congrats...

Help me stay fit in Cuba!
I’m going to be living there for three months and I don’t speak Spanish. So here are a few words that I know:
Frito - fried (No me gusta la comida frita/)
Corren - to run
Hacer ejercicio - to exercise
Pescado - fish
Horneado - baked
Hacer pesas - to lift weights
Ensalada - salad
Ensalada/macadonia de frutas - fruit salad
Pollo - chicken

My stomach hurts SO BAD.
Ugh. First my knees, then my shins, next my back, now my stomach.
I can’t wait until I feel well enough to work out again. I’m hoping I can run 2x a week for maybe twenty minutes or so (don’t want to injure myself again). Do a bit of yoga. Maybe lift some weights if there’s a gym nearby. But if nothing else, I have Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism.
I’m leaving North America for three months on Sunday. I’ll spend tomorrow packing.
I’m so scared about the language barrier and being away from home. I’m nervous because a few people that I don’t like are doing. I’m fucking terrified because I’m sharing a home with a guy who has a nice jaw line.
But I’m so excited, too. I’m excited to explore...
Red banner day!
All of my blood tests are normal! Hooray!
And I might actually get my yoga certification this summer.
2012 might be better than expected!
The worst part about being a writer
th3skinny:
Is that everyone wants you to edit things for them always and no one seems to understand that this is how you earn a living and that maybe they should offer to compensate you in some way.
Also, I go CRAZY with a ball-point pen and then worry that those unaccustomed to the “workshop” atmosphere will get their feelings hurt.
Sigh. Writing.

The past year has taught me a lot about myself and my sport.
Goals are important.
I find goals to be the ultimate inspiration. You can dream about being stronger. You can wish you were thinner. You can resolve to get in shape. But those things do not matter unless you have…

Oh sweet trapeze artist Jesus, I messed up my back. There’s one tiny little spot in my lower back (like three inches above my crack) that’s just screaming.
This combined with my screaming shins and my throbbing knee means I have a week of yoga coming my way.
Oh, and more great news? I found out that I’m sharing an apartment with one other student in Cuba. He’s super hot....
I’m only going to be gone for three months, but saying goodbye still hurts.
I already miss my friends!
My love affair with South Brooklyn
After living on campus in the LES for two years, I still get shocked when I by how cheap South Brooklyn can be. My brother and I went to a little diner where I got three cups of coffee and a sandwich (one egg, two pieces on turkey bacon, one slice of cheese on whole wheat) for less than $4.
Today’s agenda includes the Chelsea Market, yoga, and too many goodbyes.

Whining about good things
This is officially my last week in America for three months and everyone wants me to go eat with them.
I want to hang out with my friends and family and I love restaurant food but it’s getting to be a bit much. I don’t know if they have waffles or omelettes in Cuba, but I know they’ll be here when I get back.

Living in extremes
I’ve lost weight doing nothing but cardio. I’ve lost weight doing nothing but weight lifting. I’ve even lost weight doing nothing other than yoga.
But why haven’t I just combined them? Yoga is my bread and butter. It helps my arthritis and keeps me sane. But my HIIT and weight training gives me an amazing body and lose weight the fastest.
I spend so much time having a one...
A small cup of coffee: $1 A small muffin (that I only ate half of because I wasn’t hungry): $1 Yoga with a rental mat: $8 It’s official, the perfect morning only costs $10

200 hour yoga teaching training? I’m so there.
Then I saw the $3,000 price tag.
Ugh.
Three hours back in the city and all of my plans have already managed to fall through.
I guess I have a night filled with cleaning my apartment!
Heading back to the city until Tuesday!

Potentially triggering post.
I had a relapse last night.
When I’m at school, I eat to cope with the stress of having so much to do and being homesick. I think to myself, “I’ll eat better when I relax at home.” But when I’m at home, I eat to cope with the fact that my uncle’s ghost seems to follow my mom everywhere she goes and that my family isn’t as happy as I like to pretend it...

I decided to try a short, easy run today. Just 5k at 6.0 mph, nothing fancy. Then maybe some yoga later in the day to loosen things up.
Things didn’t work out that way. I live on top of a hill and the town never plows the snow in the morning in my neighbor. But I assumed the roads would be clear.
I was wrong.
I made it to the gym, mostly because I couldn’t find a safe place to...

A few missed runs are better than being forced to rest for a month.
If I keep telling myself, maybe I’ll believe it…

Some lovely messages regarding carbs. Thanks!
I hate wars like this. Even though I’m guilty of them at times with my personal weight loss philosophy.
Bottom line, I think weight loss and our bodies are way too complicated to simply say “carbs make you fat” or “a high…
